I should probably mention something.... what is it?

I'm a bit sick of Halloween being such a huge thing now. I don't even really want candy anymore. It's good, sure, but I get along fine without it. Bah. I guess I'm just kinda mad because I didn't get my Mr. Jack costume together.

I don't especially feel tired after setting the clock back, but it doesn't feel like the clock's been set back at all. I feel like I normally do at this time.

Mao! MAO! YES!

This game is cryptic, and I'm not revealing any hints on how to play it here, but just let you know that I won three times last night. I also won Risk and Melee against Corey and Tom.

I'm mad! MAD! Here I am, a dedicated Gamecube follower, and they hit a drought. Nothing. There's nothing that strikes my fancy in the gamecube lineup. Then, suddenly, PS-2 gets their GTA! GODDAMN SHITFUCK! I HATE the living insides out of PS-2 usually, but I hooked it up last night and played Metal Gear Solid for a while and had fun. No, not MGS2, which wasn't so hot, I'm talking Metal Gear Solid, where you infiltrate the Alaskan Airbase in the Fox Archepelago.

DAMMIT, they just might swing me on this one. I was a true Nintendo dedicated person, but these circumstances have gotten a bit dire... I REALLY want to play GTA. True Crime solves for a lot of GTA problems, but I want to do something new...

Maybe I can try to get the first two 3-D incarnations of the game for computer, because I really hate that it's out for PLAYSTATION! God, the worst system gets one of the best games.

Also, I finally watched an episode of Invader ZIM. It's a cool show, and I'll try to catch it more often. I read through Squee!, which was one of Jhonen Vasquez's comic series. They're good indeed.

"Well I found five bucks, so I bought some fancy shoes!"

I am bored.

Today was the only day of school I have this week. This would be a good thing, but I'm filled with a lack of something to do. I could sit and play Soldat all night long, but that gets old fast when nobody wants to play realistic mode. Also, I'm either too good or not good enough, hardly ever at the right skill level for a good game.

On the creative front, I'm trying to assemble the Five Sided Square team in a project involving Mr. Jack and his mobster experiances.

Oh, speaking of mobsters, I could spend my vacation researching the mafia! That's what I should do!

Back into the creativity front, there's not a whole lot else on the burner right now, front or back. All the stuff I pushed back has boiled over and is no good any more. I am still working with John on an RPG with RPG maker, called Back to Hell. It's a pretty good RPG, and hopefully it'll get done eventually. Right now, I'm trying to invent the legends of a fire god that a certain people worship. It's tough work.

I oughta put up that crazy lil' flash I made with Tom. It wasn't terrible, so I'll probably put it on.

Also, in refernce to my title, I've become an avid fan of Brendon Small's music. He's got a site you should check out if you like Home Movies, found at http://www.brendonsmall.com .

The forum is going okay, but I'm eager to expand Five Sided Square. (Boy, I'm jumping all over the place here, aren't I?) My site needs a bit of updating, I think. I should work in Flash a bit more... Inspiration and motivation are small though, so I guess it'll have to wait. I hope I can help out with FSS as much as possible, but nobody is coming up with any ideas. I suggested the Mr. Jack music videos, but since that's using a pre-made character, and is pretty much limited to me, I don't know how well it'll be recieved with the other members. Not to mention, they probably won't have much in the way of motivation.

END RANT, GODDAMN IT!

Late night with Mr. Jack

I should be sleeping now, but NOPE! I've got BETTER things to do.

Okay, I really should get to bed, but then you wouldn't have a post, right?

right.

At school, ho hum.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm supposed to be in class right now, but until I'm told otherwise (third period), I'm surfing the net.

I thought I'd update this thing for no real good reason, and I think I'll launch into a review of some old game(s) I like.

Covert Action, if I haven't mentioned it earlier, has some of the best concepts I have ever come across in my extensive years of gaming. It's very open ended, and your actions affect the course of the game, plus it's randomly generated every time, opting for LOADS of replayability. The diversity in the game is also top-notch, everything from wire-tapping, breaking into buildings, tailing suspects, and cracking coded messeges, this game covers all the interesting aspects of CIA work.

It's funny though, all the sites I've found about the game online have NO idea how to tail suspects or do anything of the driving nature. I'll try to set it straight.

You pick two cars to tail the suspect with. The suspect is the blue and yellow car, and you must keep an eye on him at all times (Or at least know where he's at). Your cars start out as green, and remain green as long as you go unnoticed. When the suspect becomes suspicious, they first turn red, then they start blinking, at which point he'll take evasive action.
His car will turn gray when you lose sight of him, and it shows his last known position.

Now that I got that out of my system, I hope it attacts someone who is playing the game and is confused by the sketchy guides.

I also hate how games sometimes put the s in parenthesis when they're describing items. You got 1 x potion(s)! For the love of god, you already program in the numbers, why not make the noun dependant on the number? It's not hard at all, and if I was in the gaming industry (as I hope to be), I would definately take those 20 seconds to get rid of that damn parentesis s.

I'd better be on the move, it's about time for my next class.
(Hey, twice in a month has to be a record, right? If not, twice in a week definately is! Okay, twice in under 24 hours! I'm on a roll!)

By the way, go watch arfenhouse.

"Search my room, found my chrome mini-MAG"

I don't update enough...

I got Soldat and schooled Tino in how the game is played. Man, it's so awesome when we rush at each other, baretta's targeted at each other, both of them fire at near the same time, but the bullets miss, Tino's frantically reloading, I pull out my Socom and plug him.

Also Tino related, I finally got "Mo Money", which is the only song I liked off the True Crime Soundtrack. Tino gave it to me, so props for him.

School's easy still, I'm still not working very hard on anything, still waiting for a chance to test out of goddamn physical science.

Also, me and a few friends have devised a way to make school interesting, and it comes in two words: Advance Wars. Each period, we trade off the game and SP, and we each complete one turn per period. It's a slow game, but it's winding down. Stupid Harrison keeps making infantry.. He's gonna get owned soon.

On the gaming front, there's not a whole lot to say at the moment. I'm saving up for a Dual Screen in November, but at the moment, I'm playing either Soldat, TimeSplitters 2, or True Crime.

James and John have a few flash movies they need to send me, but I don't think they're going to make any more. The humor is dying, and I can't do much to keep it alive. All my ideas for Flash movies have been cool Mr. Jack music videos. I've got about 4 different songs with which I would love to set Mr. Jack actions scenes to, Tank!, the Sopranos theme, Mo Money, and Dead or Alive.

Too bad I suck at flash.

I never update, so shoot me.

New School year's resolution... I WILL UPDATE MY BLOG! I WILL UPDATE MY BLOG!!!

Okay, we'll just see how good that ever holds up.

My site has gone to shit, and I haven't updated it in months. Well, last time this happened, I came out with about 4 movies right off the bat. No inspiration this time though.... However, with the start of school comes the start of my comic! A few samplings can be viewed if you go to the Terminal from http://sza.dl.ag follow the links around until you get to the Terminal, then go to "Mr. Jack's Emporium" and have at it.

I am proud of my procrastination habits in school. I pull 'A' work out of my ass at the last possible second, and I love that feeling. Can't do that for Science though, the teacher makes us hand in the homework as soon as class starts. Damn... I'm trying to test out of that class, or work on an independant study course thing that will eliminate this problem.

Also, I've got loads of sketches that are just pouring in from my debate meetings. I have no clear reason why this is, I should be taking notes (yeah, as if I ever do that), but instead I draw poster things like
http://s95374231.onlinehome.us/files/Mr.%20Jacks%20emporium&/internetsm.jpg (YOU SUCK AT THE INTERNET!) and
http://s95374231.onlinehome.us/files/Mr.%20Jacks%20emporium&/fonz.jpg (Fonz). Forgive the light-drawing, I have yet to realize that scanners don't pick up faint pencil lines...

In other creativity related news, I have, since my last post, joined an animation group that currently goes by the name "Five Sided Square". We're hosting our works at http://www.squatski.com where you can find me in the forums as my alias, Mr. Jack.

My god, this is definately my longest rant to date, and I will draw it to a close. If I don't update again for another month or two, yell at me on my new gmail account, j%ayc%eth%ea%yce@gmail.com (take out the percent marks, it's a good anti-spam trick.)
